REVIEW: Emeli Sande at the Brighton Dome
With her trademark blonde quiff, she is instantly recognisable the moment she steps on stage.
So as soon as she came around the curtain yesterday (Friday, April 5) night at the Brighton Dome, the crowd was ecstatic.

It was stripped back a bit from the released version of the single, but it set the tone for the evening.
Each track seemed to surpass the next, as the Scottish lass worked her way through the set list effortlessly.
She has such control over her voice, and the rare ability to be able to go from very low to very high notes without straining.

Hide AdWithout doubt, it has been a whirlwind couple of years for the young performer.
The fact her tracks are so well known is testament to her talent and popularity, and so it was that the highlights of the night came when she performed some of her best-known songs.
Hearing her sing Read All About It, which she sang at last year’s Olympics, brought goosebumps to my arm.
And the tender Clown, which she performed on the piano, was a moment to savour.

It is called This Much Is True, and I would say it can only be weeks before we start hearing it played on the radio on a regular basis.
With Emeli sure to become even bigger in the coming months, I wonder if she will get the chance to come back to Brighton any time soon.
It was a great chance to see a woman who is sure to become one of the greatest singers in living memory.
