Busy Brighton road set for 26 weeks of works
The work on Lewes Road is taking place to improve traffic flows and add new crossing and junctions ahead of the new developments at Preston Barracks and the University of Brighton’s Moulsecoomb campus.
All work, which will be carried out in stages, will take place on the road itself and any changes to pedestrian crossings and walkways will be signposted.

The development which is set to straddle the Lewes Road will include 369 new homes, incorporating affordable housing, and 1,338 purpose built student bedrooms in managed halls of residence, to address the large shortfall of managed student accommodation in the area.
It will also include a new home for the University’s Business School and the ‘Central Research Laboratory’.
