Continuing mystery of missing Ferring mother Elaine Taggart

IT has now been a year since a Ferring mother disappeared from her home '“ and what has happened to her still remains a mystery.

Elaine Taggart, 49, from Ferringham Lane, vanished from her home on January 3 last year and the following day her red Fiat Punto was found abandoned in Goring Street, near Goring railway station.

Her husband, Andy Taggart, was arrested in April last year on suspicion of her murder.

But four months later, police confirmed no charges had been brought against him and he was being stood down from bail as they continue their enquiries.

And despite appeals for her to make contact by her son and daughter, and her Chelsea Pensioner father Douglas Hassell, Mrs Taggart has not been in touch with anyone for more than a year.

DCI Adam Hibbert, who is leading the on-going investigation, said: "Elaine's disappearance remains a mystery.
