Police raids in Worthing and Lancing: Three men arrested after Sussex Police seize Class A drugs worth £5,000, £1,000 in cash and firearms

Police said three addresses, two in Worthing and another in Lancing, were searched on the morning of Friday October 21.

Sussex Police said attending officers arrested three men. They have since been charged with several drug offences, police added.

Trey Johnson and Edward Mills, both from Worthing, along with Callum Alex-Hunt from Lancing, were all remanded in custody until they appear in Lewes Crown Court on Friday November 18, Sussex Police reported.

Police said, during the searches, officers found Class A drugs, worth an estimated £5,000, along with £1,000 in cash, burner phones, and firearms.

Sussex Police said Johnson, 26, currently of no fixed address, was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin. Alex-Hunt, 28, of South Street, Lancing, has also been charged with the same offences, police added.

Sussex Police said Mills, 28, of Clarendon Road, Worthing, was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, possession of a firearm without a certificate, and concealing criminal property.

Police said the warrants were executed as part of an ongoing investigation into the ‘Callum’ county line and after the items were seized and the arrests were made, officers sent texts to all users of the line, informing them that police had taken control of it, as well as providing them with details for drug support.

Detective Constable Jamie Carruthers, from the West Sussex Community Investigation team, said: “Once again, this demonstrates our commitment to protecting people from the harm that drugs would otherwise cause.

“We will continue to work with other police departments as well as external support agencies to stop the supply of drugs and sign post vulnerable users to support.”
