Flooding at Worthing underpass is ‘a serious problem’, says 91-year-old
Moira Hardy said the subway at Chapel Road near her home regularly becomes blocked with water after heavy rain, leaving it unusable.
“It’s been going on for some time,” she said. “It was just as bad last year. No one seems to have done anything about it.”

“I can do it at my own pace,” she said. “I can’t at the moment, I’m having to go a lot further to try and avoid crossing at the signals.”
She called on the council to find a solution, adding: “I think it’s quite a serious problem.”
West Sussex County Council said: “We have investigated and one of the pumps at the subway is faulty.
