Horsham businesses forced to close due to '˜water problems'

Several signs appeared in shop windows in Horsham town centre stating premises had shut due to water problems.

Hide AdA sign in the window of Greggs read: “We’re sorry but we’ve had to close our shop for essential maintenance. We’ll be open again shortly. We’re sorry for any inconvenience. Water supply cut.”
Signs on Panino Cafe, in the Carfax, read: “Due to water problems in the area we are closed. Hopefully see you tomorrow.”
The Pavilions in the Park leisure centre was also forced to close with a spokesman saying: “Due to no running Water our centre will be closed until further notice, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The centre added it was able to reopen again at 2pm.
Thousands of homes were believed to have been affected by the mains burst.
Southern Water said supplies were beginning to return to normal as engineers continue to work to fix the issue.
