In truth, all wild and many domestic animals – including garden birds and turtles – tote around a whole bundle of nasties and, of course, we humans are among the worst carriers. Just think what we have spread far and wide on this planet, and I guess in the future, will carry far beyond our galaxy.

Hide AdForget Reynard, the human bite alone can carry a host of other nasties – hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes simplex virus (HSV), syphilis, tuberculosis, actinomycosis and tetanus (not a lot of people know that!).
No, Mr Walsh, I don’t find the fox a cuddly animal at all, but as long as they are prepared to put up with the mess I and our kind create around them, I am happy to tolerate their presence in my garden.
