Hide AdDavid Hewlings, branch secretary, said: “Regrettably, the flypast by a Chinook from 18B Squadron RAF had to be cancelled for operational reasons.
“However, with 18B Sqn currently being one of the few Squadrons on operation duties in Mali, their personnel were very much in our minds and thoughts.
“Just as in 1940, the Royal Air Force continues to be defending us, our principles and way of life, on the frontline of conflicts and where humanitarian aid is needed in countries across the world.
“Our personnel are putting their lives on the line on a daily basis.
