Update: Major operation locates car after Beachy Head fall
Police, fire and rescue teams and HM Coastguard attended, and a coastguard helicopter assisted the situation around 11am near Peace Path.
The white car was located underwater, on its roof and extensively damaged to the point it could not be immediately identified.

Hide AdAccording to Sussex Police, it is thought the car may have gone over the cliff edge at some time on Monday afternoon or evening (February 27).
Earlier on Tuesday, a man’s body was found on the beach at Cow Gap, near Beachy Head.
The body was recovered with assistance from Eastbourne RNLI’s inshore lifeboat around 8.20am.
Details have been reported to HM Coroner for East Sussex, and police enquiries and forensic tests are continuing to determine if the man and the car may have been linked.
