John Maggs admitted Hastings United “were never” going to beat Horsham until the ugly melee which resulted in the U’s having a man advantage.
United were 2-1 down at the time of a mass confrontation of players which yielded two red cards for Horsham and one for United, who went on to win the FA Trophy first round qualifying tie 4-2 on Saturday.
