White sprints to third place at Lee Valley

Although better known for her stronger 200m and 300m background, on this occasion it was decided she should forego the tight bends of the indoor track and focus on the shorter 60m sprint.
Competing in the under-17 age group for the first time, she was not only drawn in the strongest heat, but also in the least favoured lane one.

Hide AdA confident start coupled with her strong pick phase saw her record a new personal best of 8.00sec for third place.
Such was the standard of competition, the winner was timed at 7.98sec along with 7.99 for second position.
It was, however, easily enough to take her through to a high-quality line-up semi-final, where again drawn in lane one – she finished a highly creditable third in 8.06sec.
She returns the same venue later this month for the London Indoor Games.
