St Francis Rangers went joint top of the County League for the first time in their short history with Saturday's easy 4-0 win at Oakwood as their rivals were all on FA Cup duty.
After three points and a clean sheet on the opening day, Rangers boss Dan Bryan made only one change, bringing in Phil Gault after his return from holiday to again strike up the partnership with Sam Jeremiah that delivered 58 goals in the 2005-6 season.
The decision paid off as both were on the scoresheet. Jeremiah struck twice and also on the scoresheet was his fellow scorer on the opening day, Geoff Pitcher.
But it was midfielder Iain Wood who earned the man-of-the-match tag.
A full report will appear in this Thursday's Mid Sussex Times.
