Police appeal for witnesses following Worthing town centre assault

Officers said they are appealing for witnesses after a man was struck across the head with a glass bottle in Worthing town centre.

Sussex Police said the victim was taken to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service as he had injuries to his head and ear.

A police spokesperson added: “It is believed the two men are known to each other. When officers attended the scene, members of the public restrained a man who may have information which could help them with their enquiries. A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and remains in police custody.”
